for all Black Women at all practice levels.
tiered pricing: $20 | $25 | $30 per person. Mats and props provided.
This gathering invites the possibility of a few truths:
Our bodies are designed and rigged in our favor.
Everything we want wants us in return.
We are our first resource and reference point.
Anatomically, this ritual affirms the framing of the body via the anatomy trains; specifically the the lines of muscle and fascia along the back of the body, and along the outer seams to the left and right. Sequencing will bring specific attention to the strength and support of these anatomy trains, to open connections to the subtle anatomy we can summon based on our needs: the shadow, history, boundaries and our connections to the more than human world.
Via this ‘Anatomy of Trust’, we’ll explore Somatics, and Yoga postures and holds that strengthen the back and hips. We'll explore postures in various orientations even as we move through restorative holds before resting in savasana.
This ritual is the first of the Sacred Anatomies Series and exploration of a broadening teaching methodology.
Must be 18 years or older to participate.
This workshop is open to all Black Women at all practice levels. Please bring a journal and pen. Mats and props will be provided to support your practice and rest.
The pricing options to join are self-determined based on where you see yourself reflected. To join this dedicated space, select one of the tiers available (community, standard or supporter) that best suits you.
Please note that late entry is not permitted to ensure continuity and safety of the space.

July Ritual:
The Anatomy of Freedom Dreaming
Deep Core + Digestion
Friday, July 17th, 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Based on Freedom Dreaming, the practice of Black radical imagination coined by Robin D.G. Kelly, this ritual invites us to visualize the shifts to the baseline world that we desire, and to leverage the topography and innate workings of the body to support action and imagination.
Movement will be focused on the deep back and front lines of the core and the spiral line named in the theory of the Anatomy Trains of muscle and fascia. We will engage with these lines mindfully through twists and core strength to tap into our ability to perceive, consume, digest and release what is no longer serving. Backbends will offer restoration and space before quieting down into savasana.
